DualMode Paint Animation of Evolving Chaotic Attractor

by Synthetik in Uncategorized

For the last 2 days we’ve explored generating paint animation based on a paint synthesizer preset that incorporates an embedded MSG preset that directs the paint synthesizer to auto-paint a dynamically evolving chaotic attractor. The embedded MSG preset uses temporal generators to procedurally modulate editable parameters associated with the generation of the chaotic attractor shape over time in the animation. Today we’ll revisit generating paint animation from this embedded MSG paint preset with a totally different approach, by incorpoating it into a DualMode Paint preset running live in loop action mode streaming into an open movie stream.

Animating a Recursively Painting Chaotic Attractor

by Synthetik in Uncategorized

Over the last 2 days we first showed how to build a paint synthesizer preset that uses an additional embedded MSG preset to paint a chaotic attractor, and then to build a moving paint animation by attaching temporal generators to editable parameters in the embedded MSG preset. Today we’ll modify yesterday’s animation approach to incorporate recursive processing (overdrawing on a previous modified output canvas frame). Recursive processing allows for generating an artistic smeared paint trail effect to the dynamic movement of the painted chaotic attractor.

Animating a Painting Chaotic Attractor

by Synthetik in Uncategorized

Today’s post continues the discussion we started yesterday, where we showed how to use an embedded MSG preset to make the paint synthesizer paint a chaotic attractor generated by the embedded MSG preset. Today we will show how to generate a moving paint animation of the chaotic attractor. We’ll use temporal generators attached to editable parameters in the MSG preset to generate the procedural movement of the chaotic attractor over time in the paint animation.

Painting a Chaotic Attractor

by Synthetik in Uncategorized

Studio Artist’s paint synthesizer can be extended by embedding MSG presets into the paint synthesizer. Today’s post will show how to take a MSG preset that generates a Pickover chaotic attractor and use it as a MSG Path Start Generator to drive auto-painting in the paint synthesizer.

Building a MSG Source Brush Paint Preset From Scratch

by Synthetik in Uncategorized

Two days ago we discussed how to build a paint preset that used an embedded MSG preset to build a MSG Brush Load paint nib, and then use the Evolution Editor to evolve new paint presets based on MSG on the fly during live painting. Today we will take a look at a different way to embed a MSG preset in side of a Paint Preset. We’ll look at building a MSG Live Source Brush paint preset from scratch.

BW Chaotic Attractor Facial Sketch Built Using Stack Filtering

by Synthetik in Uncategorized

This post covers several different Studio Artist features that were used to build the black and white sketch above. The sketch was generated from a series of 25 different facial images, so it’s a sketch of a virtual face rather than a specific face since the sketch features are derived from all 25 source images. The paint synthesizer sketching preset is also drawing a MSG chaotic attractor.
