We were recently asked how to take an existing MSG preset and impose the colors of the source image onto the MSG preset. I was able to do this by adding an extra processor to the end of the MSG preset’s processor chain, that colorizes image streams based on a custom color palette. I derived the custom color palette from the current Source image. The first image above shows off the source colorized MSG effect, the second image above shows off the original MSG effect.
The particular source image I used for my effect colorization is shown below. Note that i’m using the Sunflower image we provide with Studio Artist. In order to colorize my MSG effect, I first needed to build a custom color palette derived off of my source image, and then add an additional processor to the end of the MSG processor list that colorizes the effect output based on the custom source color palette.
