Today we’ll take a quick look at the Watershed Regionize image operation effect. It’s useful for generating a wide variety of flat color cartoon styling effects.
The Watershed Regionize ip op is one of the many Studio Artist image operation effects. It’s useful for generating a wide variety of different flat color cartoon like visual stylings. The specific effect shown above was created with the parameter settings shown below.
Note that the Mode control is set to the Hard Fill with Smart Black Outline option. This tries to add a black outline effect only near source edge regions (as opposed to completely surrounding each flat color region like some of the other outline options do).

This particular ip op preset represents just one of the many potential flat color visual effects you could generate with the Watershed Regionize image operation.
